The upcoming Web3 Games Summit, set to take place in Taguig City, Philippines, from November 18-25, is poised to attract more than 1,500 global leaders in the Web3 space. The event, organized by Yield Guild Games (YGG), will focus on the intersection of blockchain technology, token economics, cryptocurrency, metaverse, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) – all integral components of the Web3 or Web 3.0 ecosystem.
The summit’s primary objective is to draw the brightest minds in the Web3 space from around the world to the Philippines. Here, they will share their knowledge and experiences with local developers, fostering a mutual exchange of ideas and learning. Mench Dizon, YGG Pilipinas’ country head, expressed her eagerness to demonstrate the Philippines’ progress in the Web3 sector while simultaneously benefiting from the expertise of international developers and founders.
With over 40 games set to be showcased at the event, including Ragnarok Landverse, Axie Inifinity, and Anito Legends, the Filipino Web3 community will get a glimpse into the future of the industry. Leah Callon-Butler, a director of a Web-3 investment and advisory firm, compared the summit to high-profile events like Coin Desk Consensus in Austin, Texas and Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. She emphasized their ambition to establish a similar caliber event in Manila, attracting the global web3 gaming community.
The Web3 Games Summit is also a strategic move to solidify the Philippines’ position as a major player in the Web3 gaming industry. Dizon highlighted how the international community’s participation underscores the Philippines’ reputation as a leading country in Web3 adoption and a burgeoning market for new Web3 games.
Butler pointed out that the Philippines’ tech-savvy population and love for games make it an ideal hub for Web3 gaming. She anticipates the event will not only boost crypto education but also serve as a platform to discuss how to make a crypto investment blockchain.
The event will feature a game jam hackathon from November 18-19, a conference from November 21-22, and an expo and gaming tournament from November 23-25. This hackathon will provide a platform for developers and programmers to collaborate and infuse their games with a Web3 flavor, according to Dizon.
The summit is also expected to generate non-traditional job opportunities in areas such as community management, shoutcasting, and design. Nathan Marasigan, YGG’s legal counsel, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between traditional and non-traditional job roles in this rapidly evolving space.
Attendees can expect to explore the future of digital ownership and gaming, as well as the top Web3 projects worldwide. The summit is perfect for those who want to download a digital wallet or use a crypto app in the USA or anywhere in the world. It’s an ideal platform for anyone looking for a crypto exchange service in the United States or elsewhere, offering an opportunity to network and gain insights into the booming Web3 ecosystem.
